What is a fractional COO?

A fractional COO is an executive who runs the operations of your business on a part-time or contract basis rather than as a full-time hire. You get executive-level operational leadership — systems, team structure, decision-making frameworks, vendor management, hiring — without a full-time salary. A fractional COO stays through execution, working alongside you and your team to build the structure the business runs on.

Who needs a fractional COO?

Practice owners and firm owners who are doing two jobs — the expert work they trained for and the business operations they didn't. If every decision routes through you, your team can only see their own lane, and you're managing marketing, hiring, finances, and vendors on top of seeing patients or clients, a fractional COO takes the second job so you can focus on the first.

How is a fractional COO different from a consultant?

A consultant studies your business, delivers a plan, and leaves. A fractional COO runs the operations. They stay through execution, manage the back end of the business alongside you, build systems and processes, create decision-making structures, and handle the functions you were never trained for — then keep managing them month to month.

What industries does Operations Amplified serve?

Operations Amplified serves privately owned medical practices, law firms, and established service businesses whose owners left corporate to build something on their own terms. The focus is on owners who are experts in their field and need operational infrastructure behind the work so the business stops running through them.
